Founded in 2014, Plate Italiano Moderno presents a sophisticated dining affair. Committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences and unmatched hospitality, Plate's culinary and hospitality teams strive to create an unforgettable dining experience in Kansas City. The menu, a harmonious blend of traditional and modern Italian flavors, showcases meticulously crafted house-made pastas, freshly prepared entrees, succulent seafood, and the finest quality ingredients.
Owner and Operator Christian Joseph honed his culinary skills and developed a deep love for Italian cuisine under the mentorship of the renowned restaurateur Valter Nassi from the charming town of Monte San Savino, Tuscany. His Italian roots are firmly planted in Frosinone, Lazio, tracing back to his grandfather, Constantino “Stello” Lucido, who embarked on a transformative journey to New York, establishing a new life in the United States.
Christian is fueled by a passion for authenticity. Together with the culinary team at Plate, they diligently honor the rich history and cherished traditions of Italian cooking. It's not just about crafting delicious dishes; it's about paying homage to the timeless artistry of Italian gastronomy, ensuring that every plate tells a genuine story of culinary heritage.
Plate Restaurant Group now operates Plate Italiano Moderno in Leawood and boasts a lengthy list of fine Italian Wines, Spirits, cocktails, house-made pasta, and impeccable entrees.

Following a reasonable period for our management to address and resolve any concerns, Plate guarantees to cover the entire bill (excluding alcohol sales) for parties that experience service below the 5-Star level. Plate partnered with Hometown Marketing Agency to rebuild our website around the guest experience. The new website makes it easier for guests to explore the restaurant, find important information, and reserve a table from any device.
Following the redesign, Plate experienced stronger mobile reservation conversion, more reservation activity, increased calls and direction requests, and greater organic visibility throughout Leawood.
