KCTV5 invited Plate Italiano Moderno into the My KC LIVE kitchen to showcase how we craft our signature tiramisu—espresso-soaked ladyfingers, silky mascarpone, and a dusting of cocoa.
Plate Italiano Moderno won the hearts of locals when it debuted in Brookside in 2015. Despite a devastating fire in April 2017, the restaurant showed incredible resilience, triumphantly reopening in Kansas City in 2019, stronger than ever. By 2022, Plate expanded to Leawood, Kansas, now thriving in both Leawood and Kansas City, MO. Renowned for its impressive selection of fine Italian wines, spirits, and cocktails, along with house-made pasta and flawless entrées, Plate continues to shine as a beacon of authentic Italian cuisine in the Midwest. Adding to the brand, Plate Pizzeria, a casual Neapolitan pizzeria, will open in the Zona Rosa Shopping Center in North Kansas City in spring 2025.
